Osteopathy |
Our Team of OsteopathsAll osteopaths working in the practice have undergone a minimum of four years full time training and are members of the General Osteopathic Council (GosC).
All osteopaths in the practice work as a team, and we specialise in trying to resolve difficult and challenging cases. We are all still learning and are dedicated to furthering our understanding and skills in the practice of osteopathy. Double treatmentsThere are times when two heads are better than one in trying to solve a difficult or stubborn problem, and two osteopaths may work on a patient at one time. This is beneficial for us as osteopaths, because it helps our own learning and provides an opportunity for senior osteopaths to pass on their experience. It also benefits the patient because treatment is often more effective. If you are offered a double treatment, you will only be charged the normal treatment fee (the higher fee if the two osteopaths charge different rates). Double appointments are at the discretion of the osteopaths only. Clive and Liz are actively involved in the training of osteopaths, and commonly have osteopathic students and osteopaths sitting in on treatments. Patients will always be asked whether they are willing to have another osteopath present for their treatment. Ongoing TrainingAll osteopaths in the practice are dedicated to the lifelong study of osteopathy, and using our osteopathic principles and skills are constantly striving to explore the incredible depth of osteopathy what it can achieve in allowing the body to heal itself. Osteopaths are required by the GOsC to complete a minimum requirement of 30 hours Compulsory Professional Development annually. In reality we often exceed this requirement by a considerable amount, and attend regular postgraduate training courses.
